Sustainable Shopping
The thing that I consider first is whether I actually need that item. We need to be thinking about if we actually need the clothing we’re tempted to buy.
I’m quite happy with my wardrobe and there is no reason for me to be looking at getting any more clothes at the moment. So for me, the answer would be “No.”
If you consider whether you actually need it and decide that you do, then by all means go ahead and buy it.
Quite often, shopping online I find some really small businesses that aren’t expensive but have handmade stuff and you know it’s ethical and that you are supporting an individual.
I would encourage you to just go and have a look online and see if you can find small businesses that do create things that are in your style, that will work for you, because there so many out there, and the thing is that when you support a small business, the business owner does a little happy dance. You are really helping one person as opposed to just filing money into a load of shareholders pockets, when they’ve already got billions anyway.
