Friendships’ End

A Poem

Photo by Sebastian Dumitru on Unsplash

I messaged you the other day,

You left me on unread,

And though it sounds dramatic to say,

You wouldn’t know if I was dead.

We used to be such good friends,

Really more like a family bond.

So what made our relationship bend?

I don’t understand what’s been wronged.

And now you ghost me constantly,

Though you still say that you care.

But things happen, life gets in the way,

Would you even notice if I wasn’t there?

I won’t message again because I deserve more

Than to be left with much less than a thought.

I’ve felt sad, angry, hurt, and as low as the floor.

But I’m done, so now the ball’s in your court.
